Media Unstocked
Connect to anyone, anywhere and ask them to shoot a specific photo, video, or audio sample.
You own it, not us.
Aviark is a platform to collaborate with one of the world's 3.5 billion smartphone users to request - or provide - specified, local media content.
Search via location, hobby, or profession: Lagos, Lima, LA; surfer, skater, stamp collector; architect, anthropologist, ornithologist, cryptozoologist, interior designer, cook... connect.
This platform would allow me to request authentic content from anyone anywhere in the world. I find myself browsing the dried-out stock image websites all too often in my current master studies. It would be of great help to me if this platform were to be developed. I feel like this online platform can fill a gap in the current online content development world, because it allows its users to connect across countries and continents. Creativity becomes common ground. It connects. I really enjoy that it promises to support very specific content.

As a music journalist it is sometimes difficult, for example, to be able to submit a press request for a photographer. It would then be useful, for example, to be able to contact someone who can obtain images with his smartphone and/or has a good seat/view. Even if I have to write something about a festival where I am not present, I can contact people attending to take pictures instead of going to stock sites. It ensures that as a journalist I have different images than the rest, exclusively for me. I think it is also interesting in the long term to have a worldwide permanent team to work with as a magazine / online platform.

I can see myself in both roles. As a requester, I can find someone who gives me a solution to a specific demand I can’t get direct access to. As a creator, I get the opportunity to get job offers from everybody around the world, security of compensation for the (artistic) work that is made and a nice way to build up my portfolio with diverse work for international clients.
